At the age of 19, she debuted her single for her debut album Here. This single received high praise both from listeners and critics. The single peaked at 19th in both the Canadian Hot 100 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the track as one of the year's Top Songs. The same year, she debuted her album Know It All with the third song Scars to Your Beautiful being one of the five original songs which peaked on the Billboard charts. It also topped the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. This particular track was special due to her interview with rapper Rap-Up, many of the listeners connected to her experience in self-doubt as well as learning how to be a better person. Cara is well-known for including messages on emotional health, kindness and love of self in her songs. Her music is a reflection of her own personal struggles to deal with depression and insomnia.
